Yeah, they're all like that, directionally very vague. I always start from Serbia. which is does at least reconise as being NW. And it's never clear which point with a country is being used, but assuming capitals yours would be a bearing of 303 degrees, so yes, much closer to NW at 315 than to West at 270. So maybe they're just not using the capitals, I dunno.
